The cover of Jordan and Sanderson's A Memory of LightIt’s been about eighteen months since I started listening to The Wheel of Time while running. Some 3,000 kilometers later, Robert Jordan’s epic vision has come to an end. What a ride.

Having immersed myself in the narrative every other day, I saw a depth of foreshadowing that I missed while reading the books on their publishing dates, years apart. The massive “Last Battle” in the final book was so much more satisfying with the events leading up to it clear in my mind.

I started this running/listening experiment when I heard that Amazon was adapting the Wheel for television. I finished listening to the final book about a month before the show goes live. I can’t think of better preparation—and I can’t wait for episode one to air!

The Wheel still turns!
