    Coolness.

    Remember Kierkegaard’s pseudonym “Johannes Climacus”? He borrowed it from this very same guy. I read in Neil Thulstrup’s commentary on Kierkegaard’s “Philosophical Fragments” that, in using this pseudonym, Kierkegaard had in mind the meaning “climax”, where his works would build logically to a final emphasis on Christianity. He also wrote as “Anti-Climacus”: “Anti-Climacus has something in common with Climacus, but the difference is in Johannes Climacus’ having placed himself so low that he even declares himself not to be a Christian and Anti-Climacus’ supposing himself to be a Christian to an extraordinary degree,…I consider myself above Joh. Climacus and below Anti-Climacus” (Kierkegaard’s Writings X A 517).

    So many conversation starters in this paper, so little time… 🙂
